LOCALLY OWNED with family roots
The FIRST Vietnamese restaurant specializing in Pho now has a second location in Okotoks. Since opening in Calgary in 1987 the demand for a location in the south was high and this family-run local business decided to expand. The #15 Beef Sate Pho is what built Pho Hoai's business and continues to be the number one seller at both locations.
Matriarch & CEO ‘Mother’ Theresa Nguyen started Pho Hoai in the heart of China Town Calgary, AB. Her store was the first of its kind in the Stampede City and longest-standing restaurant in the ethnic village operating since 1987. She fled the Vietnam War in the mid-'70s seeking refuge for her young family. Cleaning office buildings when she first arrived in Canada then saving enough money to then buy a small video store. Mother worked her way up the corporate ladder to be able to house some of her family's most loved recipes in her beloved noodle shop.
Roger & Lyndsey Tran decided to leave the corporate lifestyle in 2014 and entered the world of entrepreneurship. With a small push from Mother they sought out an available restaurant space located in the small town of Okotoks and haven’t looked back since. They take pride in knowing their customers ‘usual’ orders and frequently have them on the table as soon as they’re seated. Always looking to serve, just ‘Pho’ you.
